Seeking Candidates for 2012

Election Day 2012 will be here before we know it, but there is much work to be done between now and Nov. 6. One of the key tasks for Livingston County Democrats is to recruit candidates for state and local offices that will appear on the 2012 ballot.

All township offices, county offices, and the three legislative seats in Livingston County will be filled in the November election. Below is a list of the positions, the incumbents, and the salaries for these positions. Some of the positions include benefits, too.

The county party is looking for qualified candidates to run for these seats. As Democrats, we want to put forward our ideas for making Livingston County an even better place to live, and election campaigns are a great way to do that.
We can provide advice, training, background information on key issues, and other forms of assistance. If you decide to run, you will have an experienced team of committed Democrats behind you.
We live in a democracy, and that implies having a choice at the ballot box. Livingston County voters deserve a choice. Are you willing to step up and help make Livingston County a better place to live? If you are unable to be a candidate, perhaps you know someone who would make a great candidate and would be willing to pass those names along to us.

If you are interested in learning more about these positions and the types of assistance available to Democratic candidates, please call (810) 229-4212 or email livcodems@gmail.com.
The filing deadline for candidates’ names to appear on the Aug. 7 primary ballot is May 15. The winners of the August primary will appear on the Nov.6 ballot.
